Oil filter is one of the easiest I've ever done. Yes, drain the oil and simply unscrew the housing. There will be a minimal amount of oil still remaining, hardly anything. The leak was from the intercooler hose joint as you pointed out in the picture above. Apparently it was common in pre-facelifts and some facelifts. As he said though you need plenty of fuel (two cans should be OK) and then make sure the fuel filter is full. the bleed is just to speed up getting air out.
